Here we are again, same old same old. It's been an interesting year just passed. For the first time Global Warming has come to the fore with constant reports, tests and research warning that we are at (or past) the tipping point of no return. The world of our future is going to be very different than the one we know now.
Personally, I can't complain about 2006. My health has continued to improve, albeit slowly, and the major remaining hurdle facing me is the NASH attacking my Liver. For 2007 I need to get an eye test as I'm struggling to read things, old age continues at it's usual fast pace (once you hit 40 it's all downhill, believe me).
Professionally, not a hint of redundancy threatened us but the pressure is now on for 2007 to actually produce a product that works (reason for the business trip to San Francisco is to build up engineering samples for testing purposes). If we can get it working it'll be full steam ahead with product variations based on the core technology we've developed. Naturally, as I'm a Genius Design Engineer, my bit works but the electronics and the firmware remain a different story.
We got central heating installed in May and what a difference it has made these past few weeks. Marvelous, and the news that Gas and Electricity prices will fall throughout 2007 is another reason to be happy. Refurbishment plans for 2007 will focus on new windows and backdoor for the sun lounge, and insulation (every nook and cranny will be insulated).
Glasgow Rangers? Words fail me. Will Le Guen stay, leave or get the bullet? I don't know. It's not as if we're threatened with relegation, the league is gone (months ago), we're still in the UEFA Cup but the fight for the runners up spot with Aberdeen and Hearts will be crucial to the future. Can we get any worse? Oh yes, 'fraid so.
Update: Jeezy peeps, I suppose this means Le Guen is staying (surely Murray wouldn't sanction this if he was about to punt the manager) but will the support forgive him and Le Guen for humiliating Bazza "Fud" Ferguson? All very strange, Gavin Rae as captain? He's not even in the team *shaking head*
Enough of this gloom, I hope for you and your family that 2006 was a good one and all the best for 2007.
